community & participation

the goal of our app is first and foremost to build community. there has to be a purpose to that too - that purpose is to give people knowledge and insight into the world of business and economics. we hope to make it very intelligent - a refuge for thinkers and lovers of all things biz/econ - giving people a “digital home” (bringing our second and equally important purpose: belonging). we hope to bring in lauded thinkers and experienced professionals so that this hope is not in vain but actual factual.

the elements (there’s alot)…

  • a simple proclamation of our identity

  • a space where app members can browse projest, vote on their favorites, and see business plans (a simple templated overrview).

  • a series of interactive "data-apps" biz/econ related. for instance, a "data-applet" that lets users see sovereign wealth funds by size & locations, investments; or an applet that lets you adjust the chain-weights of GDP metrics.

  • a place for all updates on the company.

  • "Understand the World:" a blog that dives into the mundane to investigate the economic processes behind them. example: how paper has developed or the economics that brings a flower to your grocery store. updated once a week.

  • to both understand things at a surface level and also dive beneath the surface. this is intended to be an intelligentt foray iunto all things macro. from curency and comodities to major bank operations, we hope this daily upodated blog will be a feast for arm-chair economists.

  • "falling into grace," a detailed blog that takes people into the world of poverty and economic develop[ment. updated once a month: long format.

  • this is a critical component to our operational vision. a 3 to 5 paragraph essay by all of our board members on twhat they think it the best way moving forward - for our country and for the world. a tag system and dropdown menus will make it easier to browse this collection of essays.

  • join our board members on all things interesting in the realm of econ and biz. live sessions for the serious fans.

  • a list of courses - for arm-chair economists and, of course, small biz folks. everything from accounting to the usefulness of a macro-econ perspective on the world. these will also double as a podcast.

  • an arm of our organizatrion that allows people to invest in our projects. a place for "klaid-back IPOs" and interested investors. we hope to occupy creative solutions - such as micro-investing - to make this interesting & enfgaging for the public. our mobile-app will show the possibilities; users can go to the desktop app to actually comit to investments.
